Elena Molinari

(Uruguay)

Biography

Elena Molinari works primarily with oil on canvas. It was her knowledge of the work of artists such as Chuck Close, Richard Estes, Don Eddy, Audrey Flack that influenced the definition of her painting and brought her closer to photorealism. Molinari’s work transcends the refined technique of her work. She does not let us dwell for long on the hyperrealism of her cans because with them she generates other worlds where waste acquires new meanings. The success of her work lies precisely in that new dimension rescued by an “absolute” technique. She has been very successful both in Spain and abroad, with exhibitions in Italy, Switzerland, Puerto Rico, China, Colombia, Chile, the United States, Bolivia, Argentina and Uruguay.
