Beginning with his first solo exhibition at Leo Castelli in 1962, and continuing until 1967, Lichtenstein designed a number of images to be printed by offset lithography for mailers and posters announcing his exhibitions. Many of these images were also issued as signed prints as with Shipboard Girl.
