A very good impression of Bartsch’s second and final state, Usticke’s first state of two, New Hollstein’s second state of two, of this very scarce etching, described by G.W. Nowell-Usticke as “an extremely rare, very lightly etched plate” in his 1967 catalogue Rembrandt’s Etchings: States and Values, and assigned his scarcity rating of “RRR+” (30-50 impressions extant in that year), printed after the addition of the single line defining the forehead.
