The title Polar Co-ordinates for Ronnie Peterson was derived from the grid component and the name of a Swedish auto racer and friend of Stella’s who died in the Grand Prix at Monza in September 1978. The spinning energy of forms in the prints evokes the great speed of Formula 1 racing.
