The titles of the Circuits Series prints identify circuits, or auto-racing tracks, that Frank Stella visited in the late 1970s; Talladega (Alabama), Pergusa (Sicily), Imola (Italy), and Estoril (Portugal). The compendium of imagery in the series is striking in its variety. The synthesis of technical innovation, formal imagination, monumental scale, and sensuous color and surface produced prints that are a landmark in achievement in the history of the print.
