Jaime Sabartés, a friend of Picasso’s from the early days in Barcelona, became the artist’s secretary in November, 1935. He was to remain with him for 30 years. In the text of this album, which was published by Fernand Mourlot, Sabartés tells of how Mourlot met Picasso. He also gives some genealogical details concerning Picasso’s family, makes some reflections on the personality of the artist, and quotes lengthy excerpts from conversations with him.
