On November 2nd, 1945, Picasso went to work at the lithography workshop of Fernand Mourlot. He barely left the premises for four months. He would arrive at 9:00 AM and work continuously until late at night, often after 8:00 PM. The artist tried out and utilized all the different techniques: stone, zinc, crayon, pen, wash drawing, etc., employing all the old methods of the craft. This lithograph of one of his earliest experiments in this phase of his printmaking career.
